About Us - Meet the Staff
Rev. Brad Harlow
Pastor
The
Harlow family came to Carterville in Fall 2004 after a life of service in
southern Illinois.
Rev. Harlow attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky
and received a B.A. in Psychology from Southern Illinois University
Carbondale. Rev. Harlow's wife, Sherrie, holds a Master's Degree in Social
Work from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. They have two children:
Kyle, a graduate of the University of Illinois;
and Dustin, a graduate of Herrin
High School.
A
native of Herrin, Rev. Harlow has been a faithful servant of several churches
in southern Illinois
and the community at large. He served as Pastor of Herrin Second Baptist
Church from 1994 to 2004, served as Minister of Education at Herrin First Baptist
Church from 1989 to 1994,
and served as Pastor of Hurricane Memorial Baptist Church from 1986 to 1989.
He has also been active in local Baptist organizations including the Illinois
Baptist State Association and the Williamson County Baptist Association. Rev.
Harlow also served on the Herrin school board from 1999 to 2003. He is
currently writing a book with the working title Taking the Higher Road.

Marianne Cowan
Secretary
Marianne
has served as church secretary since 1985. She is also the director of the
Youth Praise Team and teaches the 2 year old Sunday School Class. In her
spare time she is a Volleyball Official for Junior High and Senior High
Schools. Her husband, Steve, works for the Carterville school system. Their
children, Chris and Tierney, are in college.

Rick McNeill
Interim
Minister of Music
Rick has
served as interim Minister of Music since August of 2007. Prior to becoming
interim he served as Minister of Music at Carterville First Baptist from 1974
until 2001 retiring in December of 2001. He has a BS degree in music from
Southern Illinois University. Rick is also Assistant Vice President and IT
Manager at the Bank of Herrin, where he has worked for 32 years. His wife,
Jean, is a retired school teacher. They have two daughters, Sheri Williams
and Lori Brooks, and 5 grandchildren.
