Minister to Youth and Families
Full-Time
Requirements:
Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and be called by the Lord to full-time Christian ministry in a local church.
Conduct himself or herself in a Christian manner according to Scriptural guidelines.
Agree with the doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Work with, be mentored by, and be accountable to the Lead Pastor.
Be comfortable working in a team setting and committed to loving and serving the people of the church and community.
Pray for divine guidance in all aspects of life and service. Pray for the church and staff.
Support and follow the leadership of the Lead Pastor. Support other ministerial staff.
Support and encourage all church members.
Be trustworthy and responsible. Maintain confidentiality.
Possess good people skills with the ability to communicate with various types of persons.
Maintain office hours in addition to community and family involvement hours under supervision of the Lead Pastor.
Tithe to the church.
It is preferred that candidates be a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree and be licensed and ordained to Christian ministry.
Specific Duties:
General
Be available for confidential counseling.
Be available to the surrounding educational systems if needed for counseling and/or sharing of the gospel.
Work with any other ministers on staff for advancing the youth, children, and nursery programs and church ministry.
Support and assist any other ministries within the church as requested by the Lead Pastor.
Responsible for making hospital, nursing home, counseling, funeral, etc. visits to the church at-large as needed and requested.
Work closely with the Lead Pastor and Sunday School Director on the educational direction of the church.
Any other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
Youth
Introduce youth of FBC Carterville to a knowledge of Christ and walk with them in the depth and further growth of their faith.
Lead Christian youth into a deeper relationship and commitment with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Lead Christian youth to be involved in missions and ministry opportunities within the community, surrounding community, and world.
Lead in youth visits by supporting and attending youth extracurricular activities to be visible to the community, other students, and their families. Initiate contact through hospital visits, phone conversations, and email correspondence. Report activity.
Coordinate Youth Sunday Morning Groups and make recommendations to the Nominating Committee for Sunday Morning Groups teachers and volunteers.
Coordinate discipleship training sessions, worship sessions, missions events, spiritual growth events, outreach events, and other activities for the purpose of reaching and developing youth.
Reach out to non-Christian youth and their family members so that they may develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Plan and lead annual activities (camps, mission activities, etc.) and weekly Bible studies.
Responsible for enlisting adult chaperones, teachers, and volunteers for the Youth Ministry as needed. Ensure appropriate background checks are completed on anyone involved with youth and kids. Work with the Security Committee and take other appropriate safety and security measures for the safety of the youth involved in church activities and to protect the church from liability.

Families

Required Attendance at:
All Church Services.
Church Staff Meetings.
Church Council Meetings.
Church Finance Committee Meetings.
Church Business Meetings.
Security Committee Meetings.
Other meetings as deemed appropriate or necessary as requested by the Lead Pastor.
Salary and Benefits:
Salaray range will be set by the personnel committee based on education and experience.
Vacation and sick days as defined in vacation policy.
